Philanthropy as a personal mission
At InsingerGilissen, we guide clients who want to make a real difference with their wealth on their philanthropic journey. "Doing good is the new way of being wealthy," says Hanneke Verburg, Senior Philanthropy Officer. Behind every donation lies a story, a dream, and a conviction. Increasingly, people are seeking purposeful ways to use their wealth. It all starts with a personal conversation. At InsingerGilissen we ask, "What drives you? What moves you?" Where do you want to make a difference, and how involved do you want to be? Your answers shape not just our philanthropy services, but your entire wealth strategy. With us, private banking begins with your values and personal goals.
Experience the impact of giving
Giving during your lifetime means more than making a contribution. It means experiencing the impact of your generosity firsthand. Seeing the results firsthand brings fulfillment and deepens your engagement. That’s why we organize intimate gatherings where clients explore social themes and inspiring initiatives. We make the world of philanthropy tangible and accessible.
It all begins with your story
We help you move from idea to impact and strategic giving. Whether your ambitions are local or global, we work with you to turn your vision into a clear, actionable plan. Together, we explore where your values and engagement intersect because that’s where true impact begins.
We support you every step of the way from strategy development to legal structuring, governance, and family involvement. We also help you measure the impact of your giving, so you can be confident your contribution is making a real difference.
Philanthropy as part of estate planning
When people discover what truly matters to them, wealth takes on a deeper meaning. That meaning doesn't have to end with life. Many clients want their social contributions to continue. Thoughtful estate planning considers personal circumstances, legal frameworks, and financial goals, but, above all, it creates space to capture what you value most. This includes philanthropic wishes, such as supporting charities, establishing a named fund (sometimes known as a donor-advised fund), or leaving part of your estate to causes close to your heart.
By integrating philanthropy into your estate plan, you can shape your legacy and contribute to a better world, even beyond your lifetime. For clients with invested assets of €1 million or more, we offer a private plan (or estate plan) as part of our investment services' all-in fee. These plans are prepared by an independent financial or estate planner. This ensures that your philanthropic goals are legally and fiscally sound and aligned with your overall wealth position. Of course, our Private Plan is also available to clients who are not pursuing philanthropic goals.
Many forms of philanthropy, from giving to legacy
Consider donations to recognized public benefit organizations (in Dutch: algemeen nut beogende instellingen, ANBIs), setting up a named fund, or including social causes in your estate planning. For named funds, we collaborate with Ars Donandi, an umbrella foundation that ensures professional execution while preserving your identity and objectives. Thanks to its services, you can remain closely involved with the fund without taking on the administrative burden.
However, philanthropy isn't limited to financial contributions. More and more people are discovering that they can have a valuable impact by sharing their time, knowledge, and network. Consider sharing your expertise on a board, mentoring social enterprises, or using your professional skills for a good cause. These forms of engagement often provide deep fulfillment and a lasting impact. We encourage our clients to explore how their unique talents can benefit the world around them.
For yourself, your family or your business
Whether you’re an individual, an entrepreneur, or a family, we’re here to guide you, your family, or your business. And let’s not forget the “NextGen” young wealth holders, growing up with a strong sense of social responsibility. As wealth transfers between generations, it’s essential to actively involve them in philanthropy, viewing them not just as heirs but as co-architects of a better world.
