The Real Estate Equity Fund invests in European real estate shares. The fund’s objective is to offer a risk-adjusted return that surpasses the market (FTSE EPRA index). To do so, the fund uses long and short positions in shares and derivatives. This allows the fund manager to limit the volatility of the fund and offer downside protection in case of a bear market. The fund attempts to benefit from valuation differences between varying real estate shares. The fund has a net long position in which the total long position is always larger than the total short position. In addition, the fund is unable to use debt capital (leverage).
