Privacy and Cookies

Our service is all about data; your personal data. Protecting them and controlling them is essential for us. We are happy to answer your questions about how your data are used.

This Privacy Statement will briefly provide you with such answers. More extensive information can be consulted by clicking on the links in the text. If you have further questions or comments, you can always contact our Data Protection Officer (contact details below).

For an overview of what we at least consider to be (categories of) personal data, we refer you to this page. The data in question come mainly from you, but we also process personal data from other parties, for example from Social Media, Google or the Chamber of Commerce, for checking or marketing purposes.

Your data are only used to carry out our services optimally, because we are legally obliged to do so, or because we have legitimate interests in them. The data are not saved for longer than is necessary for the purpose of their use. Do you want to know more specifically what (categories of) data are used, protected and stored for what purposes?

We do not share your information with others, unless it concern

  •  supervisors or authorities, such as the tax authorities, when that is legally required
  • our contractors, such as, for example, stock exchanges and our parent company, when necessary for the performance of our contract with you or for the protection of legitimate interests.

In such cases, clear agreements will always exist with such third parties about our responsibility for your data. In the context of investment services, also outside of Europe, e.g. pursuant to MiFID II or anti-money laundering rules, we are legally obliged to share transaction data, including your account number and BSN (or Social Security or NI) number with (tax) supervisors, also outside of Europe.

If your data can be shared outside of Europe in this way, we will only do that based on agreements made by the European legislator or based on your consent, for example when reclaiming withholding tax.

In certain situations – within the meaning of privacy legislation – we also process your ‘special data’. Such data are called special because, in particular, they can say something about your private life.

In our experience, clients sometimes entrust us with special personal data about, for example, health or certain preferences. Because, just as we do, they find it relevant for optimal determination of the appropriateness or suitability of our services and products. If you entrust us with such special data, we assume your consent, which is required by law for us to use your data.

In that case, we agree that you will inform us if you wish to withdraw your consent. As long as, notwithstanding your withheld permission, we are in a position to determine and continue to determine appropriateness and suitability for service provision, we may, if required, delete special data and possibly continue the service in a modified way.

However, it may also mean that in our opinion, without such information, we will have to cease all or part of the service. Because in such a case we can no longer meet our duty of care.

You can always request us to inspect, correct, transfer, limit the use or removal of your personal data or object to the use thereof. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, for example for the benefit of another service provider that you engage. If you so wish, you can also contact our supervisory authority about that:
